It is reported that a well-known Dunotlin merchant, who is interested in the export ol' rabbit skins, stands to lose £6OOO as the result of this sinking of tho Kaipara by the German cruiser, owing to Jier having not taken out a war risk. He has hopes in tho distant future, when Germany is brought to book, and made to pay for sinking merchant ships in defiance of the international law, that be may get hia money back .
