A TOINT OF CONSCIENCE. ' Auckland, Wednesday. \t a mooting of the Auckland Presbytery, the Rev. A. Murray resigned the convenorship of the bursary committee, on the ground that he could not conscientiously help students study at a scat of learning under professors 0110 of whom declared recently that the Old Testament was not the word of God. The Rev. Mr Bertram objected to this attack upon the cluu actor of men not present to defend themselves. Mr. Murray replied that no man's character was attacked. His resignation was accepted.
CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER,
Auekland, Wednesday.
ficorge Frederick Eelcs, a tramway motorman, was arrested oil a charge of manslaughter arising from the death of Michael Rohan, who was killed by a ear passing over him while lie was working alongside the tram lines at Newmarket. Accused was before the Court this morning, nnd remanded, hail being two sureties of £lO6 eaeli.
