SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night.
The following is Rev. Bates's weather summary for the past twenty-four hours:—
Moderate to strong westerly winds lave prevailed, with cloudy weather, and rain has fallen in many parts of the country. The barometer has risen considerably in the north and a little in the south. Forecast. —Present indications are for southerly breezes, changing by west to north, and- increasing everywhere; increasing cloudiness -with rain following generally, for a westerly storm area appears to be approaching the South Island. The barometer will probably rise temporarily, but is likely to fall fast in the south by to-morrow night.
