DEMANDS THE RIGHT OF FREE SPEECH. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received 10, 5.5 p.m. St. Petersburg, May 9. Tn« Duma has overwhelmingly demanded the intioduction of a Bill establishing immunity from prosecution arising o«t of speeches in the Duma.
A cable on May 7, from St. Petersburg, said: "An uproar occurred in the Duma owing to Opposition groups protesting against the intended prosecution of one Tcheidze for propagating Republican ideas from the rostrum. On the motion of the President (M. Borcmykin), fifteen Socialists were suspended for a fortnight, singly and in batches. Oircawian Princes and working men were removed by the Sergeant-at-Arms, asgistci by Guards, before a full House and a crowded gallery.
