X.Z. REFEREES' ASSOCIATION'. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington. Lust Night. Tin; anmi.il meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Referees' Association was held to-night. The executive desired to stress the point thai, the choice 0 f referees for a club contest should be left in the hands of (he local referees' associations, and urged associations to make an effort to get a by-law to this effect in the local Rugby union club contest rules.

The suggestion was approved, and a sub-committee, was set up to wait on the New Zealand Rugby fnion, at the annual meeting next week, to urge its adoption, so as to secure uniformity of method.

The application of the East Coast (North Isaliid.) Referees' Association foj affiliation with the New Zealand Association was granted. The following office-hearers were elected: President, Mr R. M. Isaac*; vicepresidents, Messrs C. Speight (South Auckland), G. Kattern. (Auckland), F. T. Bellringer (New Plymouth), L. Simpson (Wellington). A.'E. Booth (Wairarapa), A. E. Neilsen (Hawke's Bav), 11. K Hiddlestone (Canterbury), J. A. Valentine (South Canterbury), and Rev. W. 13. Scott (Wanganni); lion, secretary, Mr L. Sievers; hon. auditor, Mr C. H. Manson; executive', Francis, Laws, Howe, Eyre, and O'Sullivan.
