Thomas Mackenzie, High Commissioner for New Zealand, in a long letter, refutes an article by Worrall, a New Zealander, in the Daily News, alleging ill-treatment in connection with compulsory military service. He says that "Worrall apparently wished to convey the impression that his son was treated like Dreyfus, imprisoned on a lonely island fortress far away from civilisation, whereas the island is situated in Lyttelton harbour. The bulk of the so-called objectors arc entirely unfit for our vigorous country."
