RUMOURED ATTACK ON TAMPICO. AMERICAN PLAN OF CAMPAIGN. SHORTAGE OF FOOD AT VERA CRUZ.

By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Washington, May 6. There are persistent rumors that Villa is en route to attack Tampico, where ■fighting continues without result. General Funston has been ordered to extend his operations around Vera Cruz in any manner his discretion dictates.
