HAWKE'S BAY JOCKEY CLUB. AUTUMN .MEETING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Hastings, Last Night. The Hawke's Bay Jockey Club's auj tumn meeting opened to-day in fine weather, but the going was heavy as the [result of recent rain. The club's new [buildings, erected at a cost of £35,001), and considered to be as up-to-date as any in the Dominion, were opened by the Hon. H. D. Bell, Minister for Interal Affairs. The Hon. W. Eraser was also present. The attendance was a record. The totalisator handled £'23,656, as against £15,429 on the corresponding day last year. Results:— Longlands Hack Handicap Hurdles, 1% miles: Cousin Jack 1, Lamsdorff 2, iPapalitz 3. Also started: Morecombe, Caller Devon, Croesus, Okahu, Pikiho, Rising Sun. Okahu led for a mile and a half, and fell at the last fenee, Cousin Jack winning easily, with a length between second and third. Time, 3.29 1/5. Maiden Hack Race, 6 furlongs: 4 Rigo Park 1, 3 Hymen 2, 7 Munje 3. Also started: 5 Forelight, 6 Trojan, 9 Noni, 1 Arnical, 8 Rota Rota, Dame Rumour, Won by three lengths. Time, 1.18. Porangahau Handicap, 6'/ 2 furlongs: 2 Valhalla, 1, 6 Lady Louisa 2, Day Ply 3 Also started: Ermengarde (bracketed with BeTtrada). 4 Postillion, 1 Merry Roe, 5 Gipsy Belle, 0 Beldame, 10 Eocene, 7 Despatch Carrier, 11 Evadne. Won with the greatest of ease by a length, two lengths between second and third. Time, 1.25. Nursery Handicap, 5 furlongs: 5 Hoy 1, 3 Chakwana 2, 1 Queenlikc 3. Also started: Downliain (bracketed with Queenlikc), 2 Bingform, 4 Indigo, Martian Princess, Lack Heart, Shako (bracketed with Hoy). Hoy led from end to end, and won bv a length and a-half. Also started: Emperador, Ladoga, Bleriot, Sir Knox, Byron, Haskayne, Moutoa Girl, Pair Rosamond, Sir Daniel, Kimbombi, Settler. Ladoga, with Emperador and Haskayne following in that order, led the field into the straight. Kooya came through, and Expect shot up on the outside, and a great race home between the pair resulted in Kooya gaining the verdict by a nose, two 1, lengths between second « and third. Time, 2. 42 3/a. Karawa Handicap Hurdles, 1% miles: 2 Player 1, 3 Flingot 2, 1 Hurakia 3. Also started: Darby Paul, Idealism, Waipul'ere, Composed, Paramata. Player led throughout and won easily by three lengths. Time, 3.25. Poukawa Hack Handicap, 0 furlongs': 1 Chortle 1, 9 St. Al'ba 2, 2 Anguish 3.
