HOLY TRINITY CHURCH. ANNUAL MEETING. At the annual meeting of the Anglican Church held on Wednesday there was a very fair attendance of parishioners, considering the inclement weather. The vicar, Rev. W. A. Butler, presided. ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report referred with regret to the illness and departure of Dr. Crosslcy, and expressed great regret that the church was. losing the services of tho Rev. W. A. Butler, who by his zeal and devotion had brought tho affairs of the church to the present satisfactory condition. It stated that Mr. E. L. Harvio had during the yeur been admitted a deacon, and had taken up tho church work in the country districts. Reference was also made to the choir, and those members who had so loyally carried out their duties were warmly thanked. Satisfaction was expressed at tiie excellent work of the Sunday School and the zeal displayed by the teachers. With regard to the j linances, the work of the ladies;, to : whoso efforts the very satisfactory I state of the funds was due, was gratefully, acknowledged, especial praise be- , ing accorded to the parishioners, of ; Toko road and, Toko for their annual j subscriptions, amounting to £35 out of ? the £4O- contributed by those districts. [ BALANCE SHEET. The receipts showed that receipts (offertories £l*7s li)s fid) totalled £549 fls lid. The expenditure amounted to £593 5s lid, including a debit (balance of £SO fo 9d from the previous year. Hell (re-appointed); people's warden, Mr. W.'H. H. Young. At a meeting of the vestry held subsequently, Mr. A. D. Stanley was reappointed secretary. POLITICAL Arrangements are being made lor a political address to be delivered at Stratford towards the end of the month by prominent members of the Liberal party. BERNARD'S PICTURES. The programme which is being screened to-night at His Majesty's Theatre is one of the best of an exceptionally good series. This was emphatically demonstrated last night, when patrons signified their appreciation. The story of "Psyche and Cupid" is not only very interesting, but the magnificent setting and scenery make it absolutely perfect of its kind. All the other films are worthy of a place in the programme which contains, this superb creation, and there should be another full house tonight. The musical part of the entertainment is all that can he desired. TOWN HALL PICTURES. The current programme was greatly enjoyed last night, and should attract a large attendance both at the matinee this afternoon and at the usual presentation to-night. The star drama, "The Indian Uprising" is one of those Westem dramas that have caught the popular taste. It is full of life and action, amid scenery that cannot fail to delight the eye. The supporting items are all of considerable merit, and the entertainment well deserves liberal patronage. GOLF OPENING OF THE SEASON. The Stratford Golf Club opened the season on Thursday afternoon, and despite the unfavorable {weather, there were about thirty members present. The j president, Mr. A. W. Budge, performed I the opening ceremony, and congratulated the ciub on the enthusiasm displayed by tli© members in mustering in such good force when the weather conditions were so unfavorable, and trusted the | members would have an enjoyable sca- ' eon. Afternoon tea was provided by Mrs: Budge, and greatly appreciated by all I present. , | Mixed foursomes wcro played, the prize, which was kindly donated by the president, being won by Mr. J. R. L. I Stanford and Mrs. Budge, but the finest I performance of the day was that of Mr V. Crawshaw and Miss Pratt, who com pleted tohc round (9 holes) in 51, most creditable considering the bad weather.
