On Tuesday, April 7th, I ')eld my j usual four-weekly sale of above produce, and submitted a catalogue comprising 59 bales and 124 sacks of wool, 1889 • sheepskins, 578 hides, 14 casks and 38 ! tins tallow, 115 calfskins, and the usual | assortment of hair, tails, etc. Thcra was a good attendance of buyers, with excellent competition. Wool—Mostly straggler lines, heavy in seed, now offering. Fleece and lambs showed a quieter tone, no doubt due to London advices stating crossbred market | weaker, with a decline of %d in tops t t since the sales closed. CrutcMngs, locks ;< and pieces, however, realised excellent ■/ values. S Shcpskins—Showed an advance up to { one penny per lb. under spirited compe- ji tition. Vendors should not miss the op- 9 portunity of availing themselves of the « high values now ruling. i Hides.—The excellent prices lately ruling were still further advanced under a very keen demand. Ordinary butcher, cow were par to %d higher, and superior cow par to %d higher. Ox hides were Arm at late rates, whilst yearlings were again higher up to %d per lb.
