AND ONLY 15 YEARS OLD. "Tired of life at fifteen" was tile complaint of a small girl brought up before - Mr. 11. W. liishop, S.M., at the Christchurch Juvenile Court the other morning. The charge sheet said that Constance had been found wandering hy liight on the river-bank at Oxford Terrace, and that she had not fixed place of abode. The constable who apprehended the small child said that she was sulky and sullen, and said she was going to throw herself into the river The mother was more communicative. "I've got eighteen children, your Worship,'" she said proudly. "What! With one husband?" "Yes, your Worship," more proudly still, "there are fourteen living. Here's a photo of the three eldest; you can see if they're well looked after or not." "They are a good-looking lot," admitted the Bench. 'She's not had a bit to eat since yesterday at breakfast," said the mother, a statement which the police matron confirmed. ITis Worship decided to adjourn the case for a week in order that enquiries might lie made into Constance's home surroundings, In the meantime the girl should go to the Army Home.
