Mrs. Hales, the wife of Rev. Frank Hales, died yesterday at the residence of nor father in Wellington. Mr. It. Sinclair has resigned his position as health inspector and will be succeeded by Sir. Fielder, of Wellington. Mr Sinclair is very ill. Mr. G. Pott, who has been on tho local stall' of the Bank of New Zealand for several years, has been transferred to Kaponga, and leave* to take up his new duties to-day. It is understood that the Mayor of Wellington (Mr. .T. P. L,iket will be a candidate for one of the Wellington seats in the Government interest at next general election. Detective-Sergeant fioddam arrived in Aew Plymouth lasi night from Feilding whence he returns on Saturday. He will' resume his duties in New Plymouth at the end of the present month. The Prime Minister (the lit. Hon. W I'.'Massey, P.C.) intends to make a trip to the West toast and overland to Christchurch shortly. He will leave Wellington at the end of this week. Mr. J. R. .Sullivan has been unaniImously uceep'ed by the Duncdin Conference for the Methodist ministrv and has been appointed second minister K limaru.
