Mr. Hughes has made au application to the Arbitration Court for an adjournment of the employees' case against the Commonwealth .Steamship Owners' Federation, pending the results of a Federal ballot. The application ' was granted, .Mr. Justice Higgins remarking, ''l will not arbitrate for a striking union, and it is a strike when the men refuse to work overtime in this industry." The musicians and theatrical managers have arrived at a settlement under an award of the Court which has been obtained.
