Although Canada is often represented as a paradise for immigrants, enquiries which nfleu reach N'cw Zealand from the larger Dominion show that many of these who have gone thither are anxious to escape from the rigorous climate of "Our Lady of the Snows," and to seek a new home in the more kindly clime of this country. The Xew Zealand Tourist Department frequently receives communications of this nature, and a letter from a ejocc'r at Winnipeg, which has just reached the Auckland oflice of the Department, may he given as a typical instance.
