The company points out that the «x>sti„g rates were iixed when the consumption of petroleum spirits was comparatively small, whereas now tliu spirits arc used in numerous ways such as for running uiilkiiur ,„„] oI j UM . farm machinery, and trade plants It forwards two copies of the petition, o„e to be sent to the liaihvav Department mid one to the associated slnppiu- „„,( asks for the signatures of farmers and Other industrial users as well is of those prominent in the oil industry iim petition points out that the pre sent excessive rate of freights tc„,l< to retard the progress of the. oil im|Ustry by restricting the use of petroleum , 'Pints, t asks that the charge* should ' be placed em the same scale as those tor kerosene and lubricating oils.
