Following is the High Commissioner's cablegram, under date London, June 21. (Note. —Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot): — Mutton.—The market is firm, with no change in prices. Canterbury 4y a d lightweight as high as 4%d; North Island, 4%d. Lamb.—The offerings are very large, and the market is weaker. Prices declined with the exception of Cantcrbury f>%d, heavy-weight 5M ; d, other than Canterbury 5%d to 6d, according to weight. Light-weight sold as high as 6%d. Beef. —The market is firm. Now Zealand hinds 3%d, fores 3'/ t d. Large supplies of chilled beef are coming forward, but prices are ( firmer. Hinds 4%d, fores 3%d. 1 Butter.—The market is steady, and a good demand continues for choicest New Zealand and Australian. There is no change in prices, excepting for Danish, which advanced Is 4d. Australian was exceptionally strong at UOs, choicest New Zealand 113s, Danish 121s. Cheese.—Good demand and market firmer. Recent shipments of cheese are. of better quality than previous ones. It is approximately estimated that the decrease in the June make of Canadian cheese was 10 per cent. New Zealand white 01s Od, colored 50s fid. Canadian new make white and colored 50s fid to 00s Od. Hemp—The market opened dull at last quotations, but has been improv- I injr, and there is now more demand. The market is somewhat steadier now. New Zealand fair grade £24 15s; for eif good-fair buyers offer £2B 10s, -possibiy - £•>!). Fair current Manila £3O. Forward shipment New Zealand good-fair £2O, fair £25; fair current Manila £2O ]os The output from Manila for the week' wis 1(1.000 bales. Wool.—The market is quiet, but steady.
