The scheme includes building a fleet suitable for the Panama Canal, each boat to be 450 feet long and of unusually narrow beam. They will be utilised to collect carcases at various centres, and the meat will be shipped from Colon in a fleet extensive enough to give daily sailings. Harland's Royal Mail line, the Nelson line, and the Pacific Steam Navigation Co. are interested.
