The Chamber of Commerce Congress adopted a resolution asking the Federal Government to take immediate steps to re-establmh a direct steamship service between Vancouver and Australia. The mover urged that this was needed in order to secure a growing trade, with Canada, It was a business proposition and would soon repay itself. Mr. j. Paxton said that after spending money up to a paying point in the service, Australia had quietly sat down and allowed New Zealand to develop and get the benefit of Australia's expenditure. It was a grave reflection on the Commonwealth administration that such a thing should be allowed.
