A COLLIERY FLOODED. London, June 17. A sudden inrush of water occurred at Carr House colliery, Rotherham, Eight men were drowned, and several \ others had exciting escapes. • \ FLAX AND HEMP. London, June 17. A flax and hemp society has been formed to promote the revival of flax growing. Two areas at Selby and Yeovil have been planted. SENSATIONAL RAILWAY ACCIDENT. Hobart, June 17. A railway accident took place near Zeelian. A passenger train left the rails and bumped alon« a short-distance. Some carriages were almost overturned. Tfie train .tore up the permanent way and tilted lip the carriages to an angle of 45 degrees, with the footboards embedded in the earth. No one was injured. THE WAHINE. Fremantle, June 18..
