INGLEWOOD CLUB. A meeting of the Inglewood Football Club was held on Saturday evening for the purpose of reorganising the club. It was felt that as the only senior team was composed of country players, they should be given more say in the affairs of the club. A new management committee was accordingly set up, composed chiefly of country members, only two town residents being on the committee. Mr. Ogier tendered his resignation as president, and Mr. Otto Boldt was appointed secretary. It was resolved to make an effort to raise a team to play in the First Junior Thursday competition, it being found impossible to enter 'a senior team.—Own Correspondent. . SOUTH TARAXAIU RESULTS. At Manaia, on Saturday, Waimate Seniors defeated Opunake by 15 points to 5; and at Okaiawa, Okaiawa Seniors defeated Kaponga by 17 points to 3. In the Junior competition, Hawera A defeated Hawera B by 19 points to 3. Waimate defeated Opunake by 18 points to 5, and Kapdnga drew with Okaiawa, each side scoring 8 point*. Waimate Thirds defeated Hawera Thirds by 18 points to 14. •m" I k WANGANUI NOTES. Despite perfect weather, Saturday's games drew only fair crowds. Pirates and Wanganui clashed in a grim and strenuous encounter, which was anybody's game right up to the finish. The superior combination of Wanganui kept the backs busy in the first spell, and only deadly tackling kept the Reds from scoring more than once. Half-time saw Wanganui in front by three points (a try by Whittington) to nil. Changed round, Pirates rushed to the attack, but were repulsed sharply. Play floated up and down the field for twenty-five minutes, and then the Blacks secured from a line-oiut, the leather .hopped from man to man, ,and Temperton dashed across and equalised the score. Into play again, Pirates clapped on all sail, and Wanganui were kept busy defending. Temperton again put in hi« dash, and, when collared, flung the ball in,, Martis luckily securing and bounding across the line. W. Dustin goaled, and Pirates held their B\o 3 points advantage to the end. ' Whittington, who scored for Wanganui, is a brother of the Taranaki rep. forward. He played a fine game, and Pirates are probably regretting that they lost his services through classing him as a Junior player. Cameron again grafted hard for the Reds, and he is almost certain to gain rep. honors here. In the League game, Eastern, who went under badly to City last week, effected a surprise by prancing all over St. John's, to the tiine of 17 to 5. Siddells played a great game for the winners. He was everywhere at once, and his share of the glory included a pretty try and two goals. Surprise was expressed here at his non-inclusion in the League rep. team chosen to tour Australia next month. He is an ideal League player, and his place-kicking alone should hoist him into any team that is alleged to represent the Dominion's best.
