Port Darwin, May 0. Dr. Gilruth, the Administrator, has arrived. The strike, committee presented its demands, but Dr. Gilruth refused the concessions demanded, stating'; that he had no power to grant them. He offered to submit the points to arbitration. A meeting of the men rejected the offer and decided to adhere to the demand for £4 a week and 44 hours' work. The clerical staff is assisting the crew of the steamer Linschoten to unload the Government cargo.
