Sir John French, speaking at a dinner given by the London Chambers of Commerce, said that the invasion of England should not be our chief or only apprehension. Our attention should be fixed on perfecting the forces necessary to secure Imperial and world-wide interests. The difficulty for British strategists lay in the multitude and complexity of the problems of the defence of a world-wide Empire, especially with an ever-chang-ing danger point.
