A SUDDEN DEATH,

Matilda Shires, a married woman living in lodgings in llankcy street, was found dead in bed this morning. She appeared in good health on Sunday evening, but it is stated that she has suffered from fits for some time past.

KILLED IN A GRAVEL PIT.

Invercargill, Last Night

Information was received by the police to-day that a married man named Frank Dorling, aged 28, was found in a gravel pit near his house at Wyndham at 4 o'clock on Sunday afternoon. Deceased left his home at about 11 o'clock in the morning. He was subject to tits, and it is supposed that he accidentally fell into the pit. ACCIDENTALLY DROWNED. Auckland. Monday. Frank Patterson, aged 17, employed on a Harbor Hoard launch, accidentally fell overboard and was drowned.

RUX OVER BY TRAM-CAR.

Wellington, Monday

At the inquest on the seaman Dillon, who was killed by a tram-car, a verdict of accidental death, with no one to blame, was returned. The Coroner added a warning to the public to exercise greater care when crossing the road, remarking especially upon the danger of going at the rear of one car, before seeing if the adjoining line was clear. The neglect to take this precaution was responsible for this fatality.

RUX OVER BY A TRUCK,

Invercargill, Last Xight.

An accident occurred on the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company's siding at the Bluff this afternoon. One of the shed hands named Robert Camphell fell under a horse-drawn truck, and was dragged along by the brake. He was found to be suffering from dislocation of the back and a wound in the head. He was removed to the hospital.
