If the police were unable to deal with disorder, the military should be summoned. Mr. McKenna, Home Secretary, replied that suffragettes' doctrines advocating crimes aroused their audiences to such passion that*no police could keep the peace. Mr. Lloyd George has announced that the Government will give 3lay 5 and 6 for the second reading of the Women's Enfranchisement Bill. ATTEMPTED TRAIN-WRECKING. A PLOT FRUSTRATED. Received 18, 10.5 p.m. London, April 18. The points at Hitcliin were wedged with stones just before the Great Northern express passed.. A young woinan was seen on the embankment. A suffragette plot to burn the Standard newspaper'offices was frustrated.
