ENTERTAINMENTS.

. THEATRE ROYAL PICTURES.

The new programme shown at the Theatre- Royal last evening was a very brilliant selection of the highest class, picture productions. Heading the list is the magnificent historical masterpiece, "The Retreat from Moscow" or "The Fall of Napoleon." The retreat of Napoleon and his hitherto victorious army forms one of the most dramatic events in the history of the world. N« reckoning has ever, or ever will be made, of all the hardships and tribulations that the army had to undergo on its homeward march. Tn a most realistic manner, the present picture shows such phases as the beginning of the retreat, the bedraggled lines of snow-weary, starved men, winding across the waste's, the elands of Cossacks hovering on 'tW edge to ciit off failing and isolated companies, and the terror of tin*' wolves. What a leal terror this last scene wdk is clearly shown bv the packs of real wolves tearing, about, .fighting and quarrelling over the fallen. 'Photographically the picture is perfect., and it will long 1)0 i oniombpred as mi historical triumph The supporting items arc all hMilv o\xtertainiii". including n fine Vitagraph urama '•The Face.or the Voice," which the leading parts are portrayed bv the two grept picture players, Maurice Costello Florence Turner.
