GOLF.
| TARAHUA CLUB. The Tarahua Club opened its seaso* at the Carrington Road links on Saturday afternoon in good weather. The president (Mr. T. C. Dst), in declaring the season open, said the prospects of the Club were bright. The course wonldf be found in splendid order, the greem having improved out of all knowledge. He extended a cordial welcome to tienew members present, and trusted that the season would prove enjoyable and successful in every way. A mixed foursome was then commenced, about thirty participating, the winners turning up in Miss Treeby and W. Rerridge. Mr. McCormack commence* his coach- , ing at the Recreation Sports Grounds on Wednesday, and not on the Club's linkjK as previously stated.
