HOCKEY.
WHAKATIKA CLUB. ; Sixteen new members were elected at the annua] meeting of the Whakatika Ladies' Hockey Club, which was held at New Plymouth this week. Officers were elected as follow: — Patron, Mr, (!. W. Browne; president, Dr. Fookes; vice-presidents. Dr. Suttie, Messrs. Chaney, Moves, D. Webster, Montealh, Nicholson, McEwcn, Stocker, C .Burton, and A. R. Standish; captain. M. McEwen; vice-captain, E. Andrews; secretary and delegate, M. Arthur; selection committee, Captain, Vice-captain, Scretarv. and M. Stohr. It was decided to retain last year's navy and white. The annual subscription was fixed at 2s fid. to be paid bv June 1. Practices will be held at 2.30 p.m. on Thursdavs and . Ritnrdavs. beginning on April ,i. and al«o me'i'Vn will meet at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings for instruction in the theory of the game. The, committee was instructed to endeavnu- to make arraniements to secure n suitable tn'oiind for the season, as the old ground is unfit for use. The annual dance will bo held sometime in May.
