General De Wet, at Pretoria, concluded his campaign in the Transvaal in favour of General Ilertzog. General De Wet opposed General Botha's going to England. He said: "Let the British fleet be strong, but not with a ruined South Africa's money; it is disgraceful for the father to be fed by the son." The meeting passed a unanimous vote of confidence in General Hertzog and a vote of no-eonfidence in General Botha. THE LATE J. P. MORGAN. Rome. April 2. Many condolences on the death of .Mr. .T. P.
