A NEW ZEALAND RECORD. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. At the Waitemata Swimming Club's Carnival this evening M. E. Champion won his heat in the 100 yards event in 61 4-5 sees, breaking the New Zealand record of 63 2-5 sees, held by Bruce. Champion swam second in the final in the same time. The race was timed by four competent men, all the watches agreeing.
