They then presented revolvers, and •after stunning the manager with the butt-end of a revolver left the shop. They ran to a waiting taxi-ea'b and one mounting the footboard held a revolver to the driver's body and forced him to drive to a quiet corner of Finsbury Circus and escaped.

The Duke of Connaught, speaking at Winnipeg on the Boy Scout movement, said that ignorant and mischievous people sometimes characterised it as a militarist scheme, but if aims such as 1 the movement inculcated could be described as militaristic, then certainly militarism was the best possible tilling for any nation.
