APPEAL FOR ASSISTANCE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The Auckland Chamber of Commerce has received from the Waihi Chamber of Commerce a letter Of inquiry asking if any pyppar organisation has been formed in Aiifkl.and to,assist the enginedrivers aiWaihi to maintain the position taken up in connection with the strike. They urged that the men were bearing the burden of the fight on the employers' behalf. Unless financial assistance from outside waa forthcoming, thev might abandon their position. A reply has been sent that the Auckland Chamber has no desire to favor either side in the dispute. Anyway, no organisation has been formed to deal with the Question of relief. The Chamber believed that the attitude of emplovers was that it was not desirable to. interfere between the parties concerned.
