BRITAIN DEMANDS A HEARING. By Cable—Preai Association—Copyright. Washington, July 11. Britain demands a delay with the Panama Canal Bill until Mr. Bryce presents the British objections to the provisions of the measure. The Canal Bill will presently come before the Interocean Canal Committee of Congress. The nature of the British objections is not disclosed, but considerable excitement was caused in political circles when the news was announced. FRIENDLY NEGOTIATIONS. Received 12, 9.40 p.m. London, July 12. , Friendly communications are passing between London and Washington concerning the bearing of the Hay-Paunce-fote Treaty on the Panama Canal charges.
