Li-hong-hung has pleaded guilty, and his accomplice has been arrested owing to a snapshot of the. scene revealing a man with a revolver in his hand. Documents in his accomplice's possession show that both were financed by the Canton Triad Society, which ordered the assassination of Governor May, or Mr. Severn, the Colonial Secretary. The accomplice's report to the Society regretted the failure of the plot.
