NAUTICAL INQUIRY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Last Nigftt. ' " The nautical inquiry into the stranding of the Union Company's steamer Kotufcu on the North Tip-head opened to-day, before Mr. Hewitt, S.M., and Captains Post and Black, assessors. ' The evidence of Captain Christian and the t first mate (Carrick) was taken. Both v attributed the accident to the jamming of the steering gear and the stripping of the propcllor. The inquiry was adjourned till to-morrow morning.
