' The Meteorological Department published the following summary and foreeast at 5 p.m.:—Summary—The baro- . meter has continued above normal, but ■ has been very unsteady. Saturday and Sunday proved milder and cloudy in the - north, but cool Srnd changeable conditions ' have ruled an the south. Bain fell in ■V the north oh Sunday nigh't and to-day - dud cloudy weather now predominates. Easterly gales were reported in parts to-day. Forecast. —Present indication? •re for cloudy and misty weather, with , rain in most ports of the country, especially northward of Hokitika and Kaifcoura. Increasing northerly and easterly to south-easterly winds are probable. Generally the barometer has a fallinp tendency everywhere.
