NEW PLYMOUTH CARD CLUB. The annual meeting of the New Plymouth Card Club Association was held in the Fire Brigade rooms last night. There were present: Messrs. J. A. Tuthill, A. Richards, G. Parrott, H. Inch, E. King, A. Lee and L. F. Webster. Mr. Lee presided. The following officers were elected for the year 1912: President, Mr. G. W. Browne; vice-presidents, Messrs. E. Whittle, 11. Gilbert, R. Cock, H. 0. Okey, M.P., F. Bellringer, J. Smith, J, Hayden, E. King; auditors, Mr. A. Lee; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. L. F. Webster. The balance-sheet was read and adopted. Nominations will close on May 9, 'and the fee will be the , same as last year, that is 10s. Mr. E. King proposed that no tournaments should be held in private houses. To ob- | viate this difficulty, Mr. Tuthill proposed that ft room he obtained as a centre for all tournaments. It was pro- | posed to amend Rule G, making it read, "That sixteen players represent a team," instead of twenty as at present. All these motions were held over until the next club meeting, which will be held next Thursday. At the elose of the meeting the chairman moved that a vote of thanks be accorded to the Fire Brigade for the use of the room, and to Mr. L. F. Webster for his services as secretary and treasurer. Both were passed with hearty acclamation.
