SENTENCE OF DEATH. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received 24, 12.35 a.m. Sydney, April 23. Bail has been sentenced to death for the murder of his wife at Bingara. A Sydney cablegram, dated January 22, states: —A young couple, named Ball, who recently arrived -from England and were employed at a hotel at Bingara, have been missing for five days. The charred remains of the woman were found in the bush. There is evidence that she was killed by blows, and an attempt made to destroy traces of the tragedy. The husband is missing. Ball recently returned from England, bringing a young wife. Tlie couple were left in charge of Macks' selection, and Macks, returning a few days ago, found the house open but no one about. Search disclosed the remains of a fire in the hush and remnants of the woman's clothing, charred pelvis, leg and skull bones. A man, supposed to be Ball, visited a hotel on Tuesday night, cashed Ma«ks' cheque, and next morning purchased a ticket for a railway station twenty miles distant. A warrant has been issued for Ball's arrest on a charge of mmrder.
