Australian Beef.—Hinds 4d. South American Sheep.—Heavy 3 7-16 d, ewes 3 3-lOd. Beef: Frozen fores hinds 4%d; chilled fores V/ x (\, hinds 4%d. Other meats unchanged. Rabbits quiet. WHEAT AND FLOUR. London, April 21. The wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 4,2(10,000 quartern; for the Continent 2,510,000 quarters; Atlantic shipments total 191,000 quarters, and Pacific 15,000 quarters. Total shipments to Europe amounted to 1,025,000 quarters, including Argentine 759,000 quarters, Russian 40,000 quarters, Danubian 180,000 quarters, and India 104,000 quarters. Following is the High Commissioner's cablegram, "under date London, April 20 (Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot) Mutton.—l he market is quiet but firm. Heavy weights are difficult to sell at an average price of 3V s d. A good demand continues for lighter carcases, which are selling at an average price of 4d, ewes 3J/ t d. Lamb.—The market is steadv, with a good demand. Prices are firm at last rates quoted. Canterbury 5%d, otheT than Canterbury 5%d. Beef.—The market remains firm, with a small supply, and the good demand continues. New Zealand hinds 4%d New Zealand fores tM/id. ' Butter.—The market is very depressed. Buyers of butter are holding back, expecting prices to go lower. A large decrease in the consumption is reported on account of the high prices and the labor troubles recently. The average price for the week for 'choicest Aew Zealand butter was 114s, Australian Il2s, Argentina 110s, Danish 1265, Siberian 112s. Cheese.—The market is qui«fe and prices slightly weaker. Stocks are moderate. The average price for the week for finest New Zealand cheese was 725. Hemp.—The market is steady, but there is no demand. New Zealand <r o od fair grade £2l 10s to £2l 15s, New Zealand fair grade £2O for anv positions. For Manila the market is'firmer. Pair current Manila on spot, per ton, £2l 10s, forward shipment £2l 15s. The output from Manila for the week was 24,000 bales.
