The Hospitality Committee of the Festival of Empire has appointed a special committee to consider the question of making the Dominion Club for oversea visitors a permanency. PROFITABLE LAND COMPANY. Received 14, 10 p.m. London. November 14. The report of the New Zealand and Australian Land Company showed a profit of £272,013. A further dividend of 4 per cent, and a bonus of 7 per cent, was declared, and £BO,OOO added to the contingency fund, while £2OOO was carried forward. YOUNG GERMAN LEAGUE. Received 14, 10 p.m. Berlin, November 14. A Young Germany League, modelled after the English Boy Scouts, has been formally founded, under the presidency of Field-Marshal Von der Gols.
THE RIOTS IN TUNTS. Received 14, 10 p.m. Tunis, November 14. Twenty-one Arabs, for participating in the recent riots, were sentenced to terms of imprisonment varying from three weeks to twelve months.
SALE OF RACEHORSES. Received 15, 12.35 a.m. Melbourne, November 14. At Yuille's sale of racehorses the chief prices were:—Wallace, a Bonnie Rosette colt (Mr. Dunard), OOOgns.; Flask, GOOgiitf; Flaunt, 025gns. : Tipple, sftOpns.; Sconser and Hartfell, SOOgns. each.
