There 'have been no further developments in the laborers' strike, except' that the Mayor has asked the union to submit in writing the exact definition of what they regard as sub-contracting. The union representatives agreed to do' so. TIMARU DRAINAGE. Timaru, Saturday Night. In a report to the Borough Council on underground drainage, Mr. F. W. Marchant, engineer for the work, states that the work was commenced in 1007 and completed last month. It comprises 35y, miles of mains and eight miles of connections from mains to section boundaries.
