NO-LICENSE MOVEMENT

RALLY AT WESTOWX. j In the Westown Hall last evening, there was a large gathering of the no-i license and prohibition party in eonnec-l tion with the local lodge of the Good' Templars. Mr. Coad was in the chair, as 0.T., and the speakers were Miss Grimley and the Rev. R. J. Liddell. The) latter gave some interesting facts about Ashburton, where he had lived for four years previous to coming to New Plymouth. He could and did .show conclusively that no-license with all its drawbacks was a great benefit to that district. To mention only one of many proofs thereof which Mr. Liddell gave: J<ust before 110-license there were 69 prohibited persons, now there were only three. The speeches were relieved by recitations excellently given by Mrs. Knight. A vote of thanks and the Benediction closed the meeting.
