THE GISBORNE SEAT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Gisborne, (Friday. Mr. A. 11. Anderson, Labor representative, announces that lie will contest the Gisborne .seat with Sir James Carroll. MR. BARCLAY TO RESIGN. Dunedin, Last Night. After full discussion, the Otago Labor Representation Council came to the decision to-night that owing to the poor staite af health of Mr. A. R. Barclay, its nominee for Dunedin North, he be asked to withdraw his candidature. The council will make a selection of another candidate within a day or two. THE CHALMERS SEAT. ' Dunedin, Last Night. Mr. A. McCarthy, Labor candidate for the Chalmers seat, addressed the electors at Anderson's Bay to-night. He described himself as a land nationalist, and supported the bare majority on the local option question, He advocated the right to work, pensions for widows, a State bank, State ferry service, political rights for puiblic servants, and the elective executive, THE EC-MONT SEAT. Mr. Massey will address the electors at Eltham on Monday evening and at Ma- ! naia on the following evening.
