UNDERGROUND CONTRACTS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Rei'fton. Yesterday. The Minors' Union carried a metlon for the abolition of the contract system underground by a two to one majority. WELLINGTON'S WATER SUPPLY. Wellington, Yesterday. As the result of heavy rains the new dam at Wainui for tin* city water supply is now brimming over for the first time. It holds 120.000.000 gallons. The work of construction has taken several years to complete, many difficulties' having been overcome.
