BUBONIC PLAGUE.
OUTBREAK AT SAN FRANCISCO. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. New York, July 30. There is a case of bubonic plague at San Francisco, arising from infection from a ground squirrel. The victim is a boy of seven. The health authorities have despatched hundreds of men to exterminate the squirrels in the district affected. CASES IN EAST INDIES. Amsterdam, July 30. Out of 41 cases of plague at Malang, Dutch East India, there were 40 deaths in a week, and five at Kederl, all fatal, are reported, also one at Sourabaya.
