NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. Invercargill, July 26. The New Zealand boxing championships were concluded to-night amid great enthusiasm by a large audience. Results:— Bantam-weight (semi-final)—J. Leckie (Otago) beat J. Cunn (Tiniaru). Leekie took the "nine count," and was also warned for holding, but a deciding round was ordered and Leckie got the verdict. Feather-weight (semi-final)'—A. Goodman (Otago) heat E. W. Chapman (Auckland); R. Tresizo (Christchurch) beat W. Wurn (Tiniaru). Middle-weight (semi-final)—L. Cade (Christchurch) beat D. Boreham (Dunedin); A. Finnie (Duncdin) beat J. Hughes (Invercargill). , Heavy-wcighfc-FilsHimmons (Timaru) beat P. Austin (Otago); P. McQuarrie (Southland) beat "W. McDonald" (Southland). FINALS. Light-weights—A. Maxwell (Taranaki) 9.11 beat North (Otago) 0.11. A heavy right put North down for "nine," and he never recovered, the referee awarding the bout to the Taranaki man before the first round closed. Welter-weight—H. Withcv (Otago) 10.6 beat J: Thompson (Christchurch) 10.1, after an excellent display. Goodman (DuneJin) v. W. Wurn (Timaru). Both men took their respective corners, but Wurn announced that he was unable to fight ■ without a band on, which was prohibited under the rules, and Goodman accordingly was tieelared the winner.

Middle-weight—L. Cade (Christchurch) 1.1.4 beat A. Finnie (Otago) 11.3. .From this'gong Finnie showed aggressively, but Cades towards., the close of the round, [floored his opponent twice with right ■swings. Cade was the fresher man at the end of the second round, and generally showed headier-work.

: Heavy-weight—McQuarrie (Southland) 12.3 beat S. Fitzsimmons (Timaru) 12.3t The go was a strenuous one, and Fitz .simmons gamely took a lot of severe punishment.

Bantam-weight—J. Leckic (Otago) 8.0. beat Andrews (Westlaird) 8.2. Maxwell (New Plymouth) was awarded the medal for the most scientific boxer. Leckie (Otago) "was runner-up. Mr. Hazlctt was referee and Messrs Brcy and McDonald were the judges.
