MILLS REWARD COMPAXY. The mine manager's report, dated July 22, is as follows: I—Since 1 —Since my last report the men in the low-level "Moturoa section" have driven on the leader 17ft north. The lead and the country look first-rate, but so far I have not seen anything good enough to save. In my last report I stated that I had started to drive south on the leader, but owing to the lead splitting up into stringers I decided to drive mirth. Two men are. driving a crosscut from the prospecting drive, which was put in some time back to intersect a lead which showed a lot of loose gold on the surface, and they have advanced 30ft for the fortnight. The country is not so good as when they started, hut may change before they cut the reef, which should be to hand in about 12 or 14ft. In the. "Mills Reward section" the crosscut from Smith's reef has advanced 14ft. making 70ft driven. The country is much border, making progress slow. Smith's, reef should be to hand 'ln about 20ft of driving. The rise from the top level on the dropper has been put throiigh to the surface, and carried fair prospects all tho way. This reef is now ready for stopping, and I will resume operations on the same when I have men available.
