The first American memorial in England to William Pcnn was unveiled to day in All Hallows Church, Barking, where Penn was baptised. Many of Penn's descendants, including Lord Ranfurly, were present. At the dinner which followed, Lord Kitchener, responding to the toast of the Armies of America, Britain and the overseas Dominions, said that Australia possessed a college full of ea lets, which was based on the principles of West Point, proving the admiration of Britishers for the institution which provided America with officers, and also showing the energy with which Australia and New Zealand were studying military problems.
