SIR JOSEPH WARD
' SOME OF Ills DOINGS IN LONDON. London, May 10. Yesterday a deputation of aHut forty members of Parliament had mi interview with Sir Joseph Ward at the Hotel Cecil, to discuss the Imperial question. It was purely a private interview, and the discussion ranged freely among the more important problems or Imperial concern which are exercising the minds of public men in London -and the Dominions. The New Zealand Prime Minister spoke for an hour and twenty minutes, and also answered a number of questions on various points raised in tho course of his remarks. The discussion lasted two hours, and the M.P.'s upon leaving expressed themselves highly pleased with the interview, and stated that the information furnished by Sir Joseph Ward would be of great service. During the past week Sir Joseph Ward and Lady Ward have been the guests of no fewer than four British Cabinet Ministers at dinner or lunch— Lord Haldane, Mr. Herbert Samuel, Mr. Sidney Buxton, and Mr. Lloyd George. Yesterday Sir Joseph was the guest of the Governor and directors of tho Bank of England, and to night he goes with his wife and daughter"' to the State hall at Buckingham Palace.' Next Monday he dines with the British l'rime Minister and ilrs. As(|„itfl, in company with the other overseas Prime Ministers. At the unveiling of the Queen Victoria Memorial on Tuesday last Sir Joseph and Ladv Ward were given seats on the dais with the Royal Party, immediately opposite the King and the Kaiser. Sir Joseph afterwards was presented to the Kaiser at Lord Londesborough'x girden party on Tuesday afternoon, and had an interesting chat with him. Dr. Findlay was also introduced (o the Kaiser, and had the pleasure of a talk with him. He was much impressed by the strength of personality which marks the German Emperor.
