SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Press Aasociation. Wellington. Last Night. The Meteorological Office issues the following summary and forecast:— Strong southerly winds prevailed in the south on Saturday night, with colder weather, rain in many parts, and snow on the higher levels. High pressure prevails in the south, but the barometer is a little above normal in the far north. Rain is reported on the cast coast of the . North. Island, and showery conditions in both the far north and south. Present indications are for moderate and strong southerly and south-easterly winds generally. Rain is probable on the east coast and northern parts of the North Island, but fair weather will probably prevail generally. High barometric pressure is likely to continue for a short time.
