BETTER WOOL PRICES. Bv Telegraph.—Frew A«MW>int.ioii. Wellington, Last Night. The fifth and last wool sale of the present season was held to-day, about 250U bales being offered. Buyers attended in good number, and competition, particularly for better classes, was keen throughout. There was an all-round advance of about a halfpenny over prices at last sale. Wools offered, however, were mostly of a very rough character, being late shorn, seedy, and very much bush-stained. Prices averaged as under: JTalfbred, inferior and heavy, BY,d to O'/od; fine crossbred, inferior and heavy, 7%d to Sy 2 d; medium crossbred and Romney, medium to good, By s d to 10'/ 4 d; inferior and heavy, 7d to BV a d; coarse crossbred and Lincoln, medium to good, 8d to fld; inferior and heavy, G%d to 7%d; pieces, medium to good, SM-d to 7d; inferior and heavy, 4%d to sd; bellies, medium to go»d, od to 5%d; inferior and heavy, 4d to sd; locks, inferior and heavy, 3d to 3%d; lambs (free of seed), medium to good, B%d to o%d; inferior and heavy, G'/fjd to Bi/ ( d; lambs (seedy), medium to good, 7d to 7%d; inferior and heavy, Cd to 78.
